Where's the Green Runes?!
We got blue, purple, and gold runes, but no green...yet. So I say... bring in the green runes! Runes that won't put as big of a dent in your Hp. Runes that will have more than one attrib to them! Runes that you can stack on top of gold runes!

man that'd be cool. Green Rune of Strength for example would add 4 points to the skill and would only be -40 HP or something. That'd be cool as

Lol that is just not happening because of the PvP aspect, if it wasn't for that it, no one would give a shit if your owning monsters with it, its rare to come across someone saying its unfair for the mobs.. :P (just like typical online rpg's).
Some kind of green runes maybe a decent idea to develop but not what your suggesting.
Maybe green armour drops that always salvage a superior rune according to the class of the boss you killed, of course only available in sorrows and grenths footprint area.

Maybe we could have them be exactly the same as Superior runes, but named. Like Morgriff's Rune of Death Magic.

I quite like the idea, but sadly the PvP and PvE game are so inextricably linked that it would make it rather difficult without some major changes. I'd like to see more things in the game that are reserved for PvE only, since the balance of the game isn't quite as critical, A.Net could go a little crazy with the stats and we could have some fun with the funky items.
Why not make an entire line of green weapons/runes/upgrades/armour that only work in the PvE game and cannot be used in PvP. What would be the harm?

Morgriff's rune of minor replenishment, major replenishment, superior replenishment.
Galigord's rune of minor replenishment, major, superior etc etc.
Each rune could stack on a "regular" rune you have...minor on a minor rune, major on a major, superior on a superior.
Each replenishment rune would reduce the HP penalty of the regular rune by 50%.
You couldn't gain HP's by adding a superior on a minor..it has to match.
Balance? Every idea that ever gets implemented gives everyone the same opportunities.
If they did implement them, they wouldn't add them to PvE only because that would be an imbalance.
Relax...just agree with it so we can all have more HP's for free
I don't want to be spiked or fragilitised (heh, new word) in 5 seconds flat.
Anyway, lets just see if the devs say "yay" or "nay".

Yeah, we should have a "Green Rune of Victory". And then when you start PVP, whichever team has more of them wins.

Now, I like the direction Tactical-Dillusions is going with this. One thing I try to understand is the "balance fear". For example: When the green items came out posts went flying about getting rid of them because it's going to mess up the game balance (and the high selling prices).
Just having a thread about green runes...The balance inpectors commented. Now, don't get me wrong, I respect the balance inspector's concerns, fair play, and equal opportunity.
Going back in time a little if were a D2 veteran you knew about players buying "bugged gear" for real currency. That does indeed throw a wrench in the balance gears. They're not items that you can get from regular playing.
Having green runes or green anything would simply be the next step in building on your character. Like Tactical-Dillusions said "Every idea that ever gets implemented gives everyone the same opportunities..."
(unlike the D2 bugged gear that gave only those players who were willing to break the rules and purchase game items for real money.) So relax, embrace the green
Thus so far I would like to thank those balance inpectors so far who haven't flamed this idea closed ;-) and especially to those who have contributed their ideas to the table that have brought new angles that I would not have seen otherwise.

Incidentally, i think the game is unbalanced. Mobs don't get good enough armor, and their weapons should work like they say when they drop. Why don't mobs get rez sigs? Why don't they get rez shrines, or morale boost for killing a PC? I think ANet needs to seriously look into this. A lot of mobs are gonna stop playing this game if things stay the way they are.
j/k.
On topic: How about green "perfect" runes = +4 / -100. Or green "gimped" runes = -1 / +50

Green runes +4 -100/-125 would be fine. Having them lower hp penalty but higher stat bonus that superior runes would be the day I leave Guild Wars.

oh yeah, and speaking of D2, a second idea: green set items. Imagine green runes with similar effects, or none at all. But combined with a weapon, each rune adds a special bonus.
For example, (making this up) Aidan's Fiery Bow of Fortitude, and a green rune of Expertise. Let's say the green rune normally does +1 / -50. But the combo adds fire damage and a little more health. green rune multipliers stack, but at the expense of health of course.

Actually, screw all this, and screw green items :P
When are they going to come out with new types of weapon mods and new types of rune bonuses? I thought the Sorrows update's "new items" were going to be actually new stuff... it turned out to be just a poor recombination of existing stuff. :/

Dregos rune of head explosion.
It lets you head look like the ghostly heros!
I am all for cosmetic runes. But ones that would seriously tip the favor in pvp, is not going to happen. Just no.
Ghostly runes is about all i can see comeing. Wear your fissure armor and be transparent!
